BERRY SMASH COCKTAIL

This is for part 2 of my Valentine's series, but this cocktail doesn't have to be made just at Valentine's - it's delicious year-round. Just a few ingredients and so delicious. It's light, bright with some floral notes. It has a beautiful color to it (side not: I need a nail polish in this color!). Must be 21+ to make/enjoy.

What You'll Need:

Berry Simple Syrup

• 1/2 cup filtered water

• 1/2 cup white sugar

• 1/2 cup berries mixture (I use a frozen blend, but fresh is fine too)

For the Drink: • 1.5 oz vodka (I use Tito's, it's certified GF!)

• 1 oz St. Germain Liqueur

• 1 oz Berry Simple Syrup

• 1-2 oz Topo Chico or Club Soda

• Lemon

• Ice

• Sugar

• Valentine's Candy or Berries (for garnish, if desired)

How To:

≥≥ In a sauce pan, combine your water, sugar and berries mixture to start your berry simple syrup. Bring it to a light boil and continue to let it boil for 5 or so minutes. Until the sugar is completely melted, the berries have fully softened and have steeped their flavor into the sugar water.

≥≥ Let the simple syrup completely cool. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the berries from the simple syrup into a container or measuring cup for storing. This will stay good in the fridge for several days.

≥≥ In a glass or cocktail shaker, add some ice to cool it down. Add in your vodka, St. Germain Liqueur, Berry Simple Syrup, and a squeeze of a lemon. Stir or shake to combine.

≥≥ Grab your glass and take the lemon all the way around the rim. Dip the glass rim into white sugar, making a sugar rim. Pour your chilled cocktail into the glass and garnish with Valentine's Candy or berries.

Cheers!
