CRACKER TOFFEE CRISPS

This recipe has been around the block a time or ten, but it's typically made with saltines that us gluten free friends can't have. Until Schär came out with the BEST saltine-style table cracker. These little suckers are so addicting! This dessert recipe is only 5 ingredients and 10 minutes - can you tell I love simple desserts? This is a very customizable recipe that you can top with whatever you want! I love nuts on top of mine for an extra crunch, but valentine M&Ms would be great or candy canes - you can make them for any holiday or event!

What You'll Need:

• 1 package Schär table crackers

• 1 stick of butter

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• Chocolate Chips

• Chopped Pecans

How To:

≥≥ Preheat your oven to 350º. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out the crackers side by side on the entire baking sheet.

≥≥ In a sauce pan on the stove, melt your butter and brown sugar. Let it come to a light boil and let it boil for 5 minutes. Continue to stir. It will be a caramel color.

≥≥ Pour your toffee mixture over the crackers, spread it out with a spoon or spatula and pop into the oven for 3-4 minutes.

≥≥ Pull the crackers and toffee out of the oven. While still warm, top with your chocolate chips and let them sit there for a few minutes. The warm toffee will melt the chocolate chips by itself. Once they are melted, spread the chocolate chips out across the toffee.

≥≥ Sprinkle with your chopped pecans or topping you want. Let them sit up and harden. If you want to speed up the process you can put them in the fridge. Break apart and enjoy!
