HARISSA TURKEY MEATBALL LOADED PITAS

This recipe is about to be on repeat all summer long! It can be made in 30 minutes or less, packs a lot of flavor and nutrients all in one. The star of the show - the Bfree Foods delicious gluten free pita! Even if you're not gluten free - you won't know the difference. These are SO good, you all! I can't get enough. They're great for so many recipes like dipping in your favorite dip, making pizzas, and pita burritos. Their 16 count pack in now available in select Costco's. Run, don't walk! I think you're going to love this one!

What You'll Need:

• 1/2 lb ground turkey

• 3 tbsp Harissa Moroccan Red Pepper Sauce

• 1/3 cup gluten free breadcrumbs (I used panko)

• 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese

• 1/2 tsp dried dill

• 1/2 tsp oregano

• 1/2 tsp onion powder

• 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

• Salt & Pepper

• Avocado Oil

Optional Toppings:

• Hummus

• Tzatziki Sauce

• Cucumber, Cherry Tomato & Feta mixture

• Pickled Red Onions

How To:

≥≥ In a bowl, combine your ground turkey, bread crumbs, 2 tbsp of Harissa, feta and spices. Gently fold the mixture into itself - be careful to not over mix. You don't want tough meatballs! Once combined, roll into golf ball sized meatballs.

≥≥ Over medium heat, add a drizzle of avocado oil to a cast iron skillet and toast up your pita bread on both sides until lightly golden brown. Remove and set aside.

≥≥ Add in one more drizzle of avocado oil and add your meatballs to the pan. Cook on all sides, rotating the meatballs to create a crust all the way around. Once the meatballs are fully cooked through, add in 1 tbsp of Harissa and stir to combine.

≥≥ Start building your pitas! I started with a layer of hummus, then the meatballs, Tzatziki sauce, cucumber and tomato mixture, then top with pickled red onions.

Dig in & enjoy!
